Marbach founded a new branch in Tianjin together with the machine manufacturer Masterwork in the summer of 2018. Cutting-dies for the Chinese folding box industry are mainly manufactured at this location. A few months later, Marbach started its new materials subsidiary in Mexico. A production facility in the USA will follow in the summer of 2019. At Marbach all signs point to expansion.
Dominic Fischer, Production Manager at Marbach in China: "A lot has happened at Marbach in recent months. At our new location in China, we have already conducted several training sessions with our chinese customers. The training courses have been very popular because of their practical relevance and the competence of the trainers. The next customer training has already been planned for the summer."
In addition, Marbach expanded its local portfolio in January 2019 and now also produces embossing plates in China. This means that customers in China can be supplied even faster with suitable tools. Investment has also been made in rule processing machines and blanking technology.
Fischer continues: "The local requirements in China are somewhat different from those in other countries. For this reason, we are currently adapting our technologies to market requirements in China. We are currently in a process of development."
Customers in China greatly appreciate Marbach technologies. This is because local tools often result in lower performance. In addition, set-up times are significantly longer than with Marbach tools.
Marbach has added a new blanking tool to its product range. The alublanker is, as its name suggests, made of aluminum and completely CNC-milled. One of the first customers to use the alublanker is Marbach's long-standing partner MPS in Obersulm - a company of the Consumer Packaging Business of the WestRock Group. The Obersulm site produces high-quality folding cartons for the international perfume and cosmetics industry.
Marbach has published a new whitepaper for tobacco applications on its knowledge platform, the Experience Hub.
Marbach provides solutions to ensure top performance for its customers. In order to make packaging more attractive and to visually highlight individual elements of packing, the embellishment process of embossing is often used. As an eye-catcher, it increases the impact of a package at the point of sale. This then has a sales-promoting effect for the packaged product. If the embossing process is not integrated into the die-cutting process but is carried out separately, this is known as embossing and die-cutting in two passes. This is more time-consuming than an embossing process integrated into the die-cutting process. But here, too, set-up times can be minimized.
The portfolio of Marbach Die Supplies (MDS) includes machines, equipment and materials for diemaking. In particular, MDS has expanded its range of manual devices in recent months. Among the most popular of these is the mcut|multi multifunctional cutting tool. It cuts rule materials quickly and without deformation. Plastika Mostar in Slovenia is already using mcut|multi and is very impressed.
