The Marbach Group celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023. Despite the now sizeable company of more than 1,600 employees worldwide, Marbach has never forgotten its roots. Because Marbach is aware that the roots of the company's success story are found in the people, the employees, who have supported the company through the last 100 years.
Satisfied employees as the basis of success
Peter Marbach, Managing Director of the Marbach Group: "Satisfied employees are the foundation of our success – from the beginnings in the 1920s up to the present day! It is only possible for a company to exist for 100 years if every single employee brings with them commitment and performance. At Marbach, we create the basis for this with a friendly, open and fair corporate culture as well as the possibility of career advancement for our employees. Our aim is to offer our employees the best possible conditions with future-oriented training and development opportunities. We will continue our journey on this successful path in the future and it will surely support us in meeting the challenges of a new, digitally connected and globalized working world."
Benefits for the individual and for strong teams
In order to remain a consistent and attractive employer over the next 100 years, Marbach relies on various pillars that strengthen both individual employees and the entire team. These include flexible working, personal development, additional rewards and benefits, special events as well as a company health management program. However, the most important element in all of this is a strong and well-functioning community. Because good teamwork, where team performance remains in focus, creates a climate in which the employees like to work, are motivated and give their best.
Marbach employees benefit from flexible working hours, which are not only family-friendly but also create the necessary balance between work and private life. The company also offers its employees excellent prospects by supporting them in their professional and personal development, for example through development plans and regular comprehensive internal and external training courses. Many of today's Marbach managers have completed apprenticeships or studies at the company and have grown with the business. Being aware that apprentices and students are tomorrow's top performers, Marbach sets premium value on qualified and practical training of young people. With few exceptions, all apprentices are taken on by the company at the end of their apprenticeships.
In addition, there are various additional benefits from which the employees can profit. These include advantages such as employee profit-sharing, subsidized lunches, metalworkers' pensions, vacation and Christmas bonuses, anniversary gifts and various partner programs such as corporate benefits and job bikes.
Community strengthening events
Marbach relates: "What is certainly very special at Marbach are our regular events and activities for our employees. For example, every two years there is a big family event, our Family Day, where the managers host the employees and their families. For some years now, we have also held a small winter village on the last working day before Christmas, a place where all employees end the working year together. With events like these, we wish to thank our employees for their commitment and to honor the value of their performance. In our anniversary year 2023, employees can look forward to a very special event: a big 100-year celebration with lots of nice surprises. We are already happy to show our appreciation and thank all our employees for their active support in all the positive developments of the Marbach company throughout the years. "
A strong working environment for strong employees
An important part of the employee orientation at Marbach is employee health. Therefore, there are wide-ranging offers in this area such as sports and information events on healthy nutrition, health campaigns as well as regular fruit weeks where employees receive free fruit for one week. Marbach also regularly provides teams for the Stimme company run, the dragon boat race or the Trollinger Marathon in Heilbronn. Marbach continues: "A very special sports event is the Marbach Cup. Every 2-3 years, since 2006, this soccer tournament has been hosted by a different Marbach location or partner. Soccer teams travel from every Marbach location to play for the Marbach Cup. This has strengthened the sense of community of the group around the globe." Besides Germany, the Marbach Cup has already taken place in England, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Egypt and Slovakia. This year, the Marbach Cup will be held in Romania.
Marbach explains: "As an employer, we bear responsibility for our employees by creating an optimal working environment with collegial and respectful interaction, and by promoting and challenging them as individuals. What is important in this regard is clear and open communication as well as a transparent management culture. That is why our employee orientation is also reflected in our corporate goals. Every year, we consider anew what is important for our employees."
Focus on people
At Marbach, the focus is on people – the employees. Because satisfied and healthy employees form the basis for any successful work. Marbach is a community where everyone pulls together as a team, where everybody works together to ensure that customers receive the best possible service and optimal solutions. Over the years, this philosophy has brought the company to the forefront. And it has done so worldwide: regardless of borders, backgrounds, origins, divisions or subsidiaries. This philosophy has made it possible for Marbach to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023. And this is exactly what Marbach is all about.
In 2023, we will be able to look back on 100 years of company history. After this special event, the next big event for us is already waiting to happen next year: In one year – exactly on May 28, 2024 – the leading trade show of the printing and packaging industry, drupa in Düsseldorf, will finally take place again.
We are at home in the packaging industry. Almost 100 years ago, we began in Heilbronn as a 3-man business with a small workshop measuring 36 m² (4 x 9 m). Today the company has 1,600 employees worldwide at many locations around the globe. In Heilbronn alone, the total area for production and administration is 24,352 m².
As a result of this expansion, space in the existing buildings has repeatedly become cramped over the years. As a consequence, new buildings and extensions have had to be built.
In addition to our comprehensive portfolio of cutting-dies, we also offer compatible storage systems. The Marbach Die Storage System (MDSS) has been designed for packaging manufacturers seeking optimally functioning in-house logistics.
