Customers of Marbach rely more and more on the application of steel counter plates as a counter-die. This development comes as no surprise since demands on functionality and appearance of packaging blanks are continually increasing. The steel counter plate meets both criteria. The high quality of the creases that are created with it, leads to a very good functionality of folds. Moreover it eliminates the occurrence of marks on the blank.
The trend is towards steel counter plates
Head of Business Development, Jan Brunner: “During the last years we have recognized an increasing trend towards steel counter plates. Our share of sales has been significantly enhanced. The application is not complicated due to the fact that nowadays all die-cutting machines are designed for 1mm cutting plates. For most of our customers, using a steel counter plate is not only a must for high quantities, but also for repeat orders. Steel counter plates are also used more and more for small quantities with high demands on the creasing quality. For best creasing performance of packaging.”
A steel counter plate is a counter die made of steel with milled creasing channels. Compared with creasing matrix or rillma, it is characterized by simple handling and a very long lifespan. But the main reason for the huge success of the steel counter plate is the quality of the creases. Because this quality leads to best functionality and the most attractive packaging at the point of sale. Without marks. Also the integration of refinement techniques and braille embossing is very easy with the steel counter plate.
Additional option marbajump
The optimization option marbajump is a special lifter with which the steel counter plate can additionally be equipped. It prevents the sheet being trapped in the creasing channel, especially in challenging places, for example when used in combination with reverse cutting or embossing.
Steel counter plates are available in different degrees of hardness and versions, so the customers’ requirements can be perfectly taken into account.
Marbach has a new technology in its portfolio. The universal sheet delivery is a tool with which sheet delivery in the die-cutting machine can be extended so that the delivery of the paperboard sheets can be quickly and easily adapted to each individual job.
Marbach Werkzeugbau is currently working intensively on the topics of digitization and industry 4.0. The main focus here is on digital solutions for tools, processes and services. Within the scope of this project, Marbach has analyzed the future requirements of its customers. The results of this are the two components CONNECT|M and CONNECT|AR (Augmented Reality). CONNECT|M is a technology that intelligently connects the thermoforming tool, Marbach and the customer. CONNECT|AR is about virtual customer support via remote maintenance.
Marbach offers an extensive portfolio of dieboards. The suitable dieboard can be selected according to the requirements of the customer or the particular order. The dieboard forms the basis of a cutting-die. The contours of the packaging are first inserted into the dieboard, then the cutting and creasing rules are positioned and finally the appropriate rubber coating is applied.
Through its Die Supplies & Automation (MDS&A) division Marbach sells machines to die-makers. In addition to laser systems and water jet systems, Marbach has milling machines in its portfolio. The mgrav|2 is its most successful milling machine.
