Marbach has been on an expansion course for years. In autumn, Marbach will open its new location in Michigan City, Indiana. The newly created facility in Michigan City will complement Marbach America's current resources at the Marbach site in Charlotte, NC. Preparations to open the new Marbach office are already in full swing.
Comprehensive product portfolio
The Michigan City facility manufactures an extensive portfolio of tools for the packaging industry. In addition to standard folding box tools, Marbach will manufacture high-tech tools on site such as the solidplate, the masterstrip|plate and the lightblanker system. Furthermore, tools for large-format corrugated plants such as the Mastercut 1.7 and 2.1 will be produced in Michigan City.
The establishment of a new location requires highly qualified employees. For this reason, not only the Marbach plant in Charlotte but also the headquarters in Heilbronn will support with personnel at the start of the new Marbach subsidiary. In addition, Marbach is actively looking for employees in the USA.
Fernando Pires, COO: "We recently presented the Marbach company together with the plans for our new production site at a local technical school. Visitor interest was great with participants coming from the CAD, CNC milling and laser cutting sectors. So, it was a perfect match for our requirements."
Moreover, the local economic council of the city of Michigan City is supporting the development of the new Marbach plant.
Experience Marbach Michigan City live
The construction has now been completed, as well as the installation of the latest machines – laser systems, water jet systems, milling machines. In weekly meetings, the project plan was coordinated and this ensured that Marbach in Michigan City could be officially opened in September. In addition to an open house, presentations and plant tours are being planned for customers, other interested parties as well as employees and their families. Visitors can thus experience the new Marbach company in Michigan City and its extensive possibilities live.
Marbach has added a new blanking tool to its product range. The alublanker is, as its name suggests, made of aluminum and completely CNC-milled. One of the first customers to use the alublanker is Marbach's long-standing partner MPS in Obersulm - a company of the Consumer Packaging Business of the WestRock Group. The Obersulm site produces high-quality folding cartons for the international perfume and cosmetics industry.
Marbach has published a new whitepaper for tobacco applications on its knowledge platform, the Experience Hub.
Marbach provides solutions to ensure top performance for its customers. In order to make packaging more attractive and to visually highlight individual elements of packing, the embellishment process of embossing is often used. As an eye-catcher, it increases the impact of a package at the point of sale. This then has a sales-promoting effect for the packaged product. If the embossing process is not integrated into the die-cutting process but is carried out separately, this is known as embossing and die-cutting in two passes. This is more time-consuming than an embossing process integrated into the die-cutting process. But here, too, set-up times can be minimized.
The portfolio of Marbach Die Supplies (MDS) includes machines, equipment and materials for diemaking. In particular, MDS has expanded its range of manual devices in recent months. Among the most popular of these is the mcut|multi multifunctional cutting tool. It cuts rule materials quickly and without deformation. Plastika Mostar in Slovenia is already using mcut|multi and is very impressed.
