Marbach opened its new location in Michigan City, Indiana. The newly created factory in Michigan City will complement Marbach America's current resources at the Marbach site in Charlotte, NC. At the Open House in September, numerous visitors from the local community and customers from the packaging industry all over the United States were able to convince themselves of the performance capabilities of the newly founded company.
Comprehensive product portfolio
Fernando Pires, Chief Operating Officer of Marbach America: "From now on, we will be manufacturing an extensive portfolio of die-cutting tools for the packaging industry in Michigan City. In addition to standard folding carton tools, we will manufacture high-tech tools such as the solidplate, the masterstrip|plate and the lightblanker system. Moreover tools for large-format corrugated flatbed diecutters will be produced in Michigan City."
Open house Oktoberfest
At the open house Marbach offered its visitors in Michigan City an exciting program in Oktoberfest atmosphere, with German food and drinks. In addition to guided plant tours and presentations on the subject of "die-cutting technology for packaging", also the live production of Marbach tools could be seen.
Marbach creates jobs in Michigan City
Pires: “We are very happy that we could start now with our new manufacturing site. In Michigan City, we have approximately 20 employees at the moment. The goal is to increase the number of employees to 50 in the next 5 years.” Thus Marbach creates new and attractive jobs in Michigan City.
An exciting year comes to an end for Marbach. For many years now it has been Marbach's tradition to make donations to charities instead of giving presents to customers at Christmas. When selecting the recipients, it is important to the Marbach management to divide money between internationally renowned and regionally respected institutions. This year Marbach has donated 8,000 euros to Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. and has also supported Offene Hilfen gGmbH Heilbronn with a donation of 2,000 euros.
Through its Marbach Die Supplies & Automation (MDS&A) division, Marbach sells machines to die-makers. The currently most successful laser system in Marbach's portfolio is the mlas|compact-2.
