History

The family business Marbach was founded as a three-man operation by Karl H. Marbach in 1923. In 1955 Karl G. Marbach joined the company management. Since 1992 his son Peter Marbach has been directing the management of the company that has grown into the world technology leader in the sectors die cutting technology and tool manufacturing.

1923:

 

The Marbach company was founded by Karl H. Marbach and two partners, initially supplying forged cutting tools to the shoe manufacturing industry.

1924:

Karl H. Marbach became sole owner.

1926:

Karl H. Marbach decided to switch manufacturing to steel rule dies.

1955:

Karl G. Marbach joined the company.

1957:

The Tool Manufacturing division was set up.

1960:

The Tool Manufacturing division produced its first thermoforming tool.

1968:

The production of rotary cutting dies for the corrugated board industry started.

1972:

Installation of the first laser system in Europe.

1984:

Globalization to supply markets worldwide.

1985:

The company was divided into Die Cutting Technology and Tool Manufacturing.

1988:

Peter G. Marbach joined the company.

1990:

Installation of the water-jet system marbajet.

1994:

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 for the Die Cutting Technology division.

1998: 

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 for the Tool Manufacturing division.

2001:

 

Karl G. Marbach receives decoration Diemaker of the year from the IADD (International Association of Diecutting and Diemaking).

2005:

In honor of Karl H. Marbach a street was named Karl-Marbach-Straße.

2007:

Completion of the new building in Heilbronn.
